Jobs for the weekend - my top 5 July gardening jobs

The garden is probably at it's peak right now. Here's my top 5 gardening jobs for July to keep it looking it's best.

  1. Summer Prune Wisteria

Increase flowers for next year by cutting back the wispy stems to 5/6 leaves.

2. Feed & Deadhead roses

Dead head roses to just above the next cluster of five leaves to encourage repeat blooms and feed with a seaweed or rose feed to improve the health of your plants.

3. Cut back Geraniums

Hardy Geraniums like Rozanne can get a bit wayward at this time of year. Cut back spent flower stem to the next healthy leaf to encourage repeat flowering.

4. Cut Lavender for drying

Whilst in flower, cut Lavendar stems for drying. Hang bunches upside down to dry and create natural room fresheners.
