My E11 Industrial Style Family Garden - progress so far

Here's a reminder of my design for an E11 Industrial Style Family garden. Work started on this build at the beginning of December so here's a look at progress so far.

Firstly the existing plants (bar a few established shrubs) and lawn was removed and the levels set for the new patios.

The paint colour for the existing fences was chosen to complement the striking geometric tiles for the main patio. Silver fir was chosen to brighten up a predominantly shady Winter garden.

Next came the extensive shuttering work for the L shaped sofa/planter for the main patio. This cast concrete furniture was poured in two parts with a time capsule inserted into the bench by my client's children.

I really love the textures created with cast concrete. This hard wearing furniture will softened with planting behind and brightly coloured cushions and table.

The industrial look of the concrete will be supplemented with Corten steel elements including edging, rebar trellis and custom bug hotels.

The industrial hard landscaping will be extensively softened with a lawn with wildflower margins, ground cover planting around the stepping stone, espalier apple trees and herbaceous planting throughout.

I look forward to seeing this garden build completed in January 2022 with the planting completed in Spring.
