Spring is almost here - honest!

With only 11 days to go until the official start of Spring I thought we all need some reassurances that it is on it's way, especially with all the rain, snow, sleet and hail we've had of late.

Here's some signs of Spring I've seen in my garden and the gardens that I look after.

Spring Bulbs

I've seen Fritillaria meleagris, Muscari and lots of Narcissi bringing splashes of colour to my gardens.

Blossom on fruit trees

I gave a Damson tree in my clients garden it's annual prune this week and look at all the beautiful blossom. This is a sign that this tree should fruit really well in the Summer. These are the bits I cut off which I created a Spring display with.

Flower buds

Look at the pink buds on the Mahonia media 'Charity' about to burst into the lovely fragrant yellow flowers.

The buds on the Magnolia stellata are also ready to burst open with the white star shaped flowers.

I look forward to seeing my garden emerge over the next few weeks. Watch this space for an update.
